DB2 V10 new feature about "HASH INDEX"

Postby srilata83 » Sun Sep 26, 2010 10:11 am

Hi All,
Could anyone please explain me about 'hash index' in DB2 V10 with the examples. If any materials or manuals coold be shared with me will be highly appreciated.

Also, someone has expalined about this like"V10 introduces ‘Hash’ indexes which will incur only a single I/O to get to the DB2 data row (i.e. very fast access). The requirements are that the ‘Hash’ index be unique and that SELECT SQL using the index specify all of the index keys in the WHERE clause using the ‘=’ predicate."
Not clear with the above...Please help me to understand this concept.

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Try the DB2 V10 manuals. They are online at IBM and free to browse and download
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.
