Hello,

When you are presented some message from the system, it is always a good idea to post the message num/id. Any other diagnostic info should be posted as well. A description of what you were doing (trying to do :) ) also helps us help you.

From the db2 v8 manual:
DSNU316I

DSNU316I csect-name - UNABLE TO DRAIN WRITERS FROM object-type object-name PART part-num
Explanation:
The utility was unable to drain the class of writers from a partition of an object because the resource was unavailable. The partition is identified by object type (object-type), object name (object-name), and partition number (part-num). Message DSNT500I tells why the resource was unavailable.

The quote came from here:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/dzichelp/v2r2/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.db2.doc.mc/msgs/dsnu316i.html
Hope this helps,
d.sch.
