hi friends;

like you know answers for these question?
1. what is the difference between element and subsystem?
2. where does all subsystem resides before they are initialized?
3. where is JES2 is present in server since it is primary subsystem?
4. how many OS can be there in a particular LPAR?
5. what is the difference between terminal and console?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

1. Where did you hear the term element? It has multiple meanings depending on usage. Are you asking about a database subsystem or something else?

2. I don't know what this is asking. . .

3. Probably not what you are looking for, but JES is on dasd and in memory.

4. Depends. Usually one.

5. A terminal is for users, a console typically for Operators. Often, terminal hadrware is used for the consoles.
