CPU time Variables

Postby pmfergus » Tue Jun 02, 2009 1:30 am

What reasons will cause the CPU time on a job to vary. The job is being run with the same files. Shouldn't the actual amount of CPU minutes used be the same?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

I suspect you are not aware of (or at least have not posted) complete information. . . :)

Shouldn't the actual amount of CPU minutes used be the same?
Only if the exact same input from all sources are processed by the exact same program. In addition to the IEF374I info, please post the jcl from both steps. Also, mention if this is run in a test database versus a production database in addition to the "same files" being used.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.
