JCL To XMIT Multiple PDS datasets

Postby jbarker36 » Tue Oct 20, 2009 7:07 pm

Hello,

I am new to writing JCL.

I have 6 PDS files I want to place in 6 XMIT files to be eventually transferred down to a windows machine for distribution. When a person uploads the XMIT files they will restore them, etc.

I have received these files in the past and ran the restore commands but I have never made an XMIT file and don't know how someone does it.

Some example JCL would be very helpful. I don't need to get the ending files off the mainframe in the same job, I just need to make the datasets.

Thank you for your assistance.

TRANSMIT and RECEIVE are TSO commands and can be found in the TSO Commands manual or using the "TSO HELP XMIT" command to see the help file in TSO.

You could put the commands in a batch TSO job using pgm IKJEFT01.
