SYNC SORT - PROBLEM WITH INVISIBLE CHARACTERS

Postby mf_guru » Thu Sep 27, 2007 7:26 pm

The problem is that the syscsort code written in windows notepad is copy to mainframe ispf .
While pasting the newline character is pasted also? So while running the syncsort code, it is giving error at the new line character is present.

How can i get rid of these? My objective is to copy the code in windows and paste in mainframe editor.
Keeping the objective same, can i have successful syncsort code?

Either turn off word wrap on notepad or just edit it once you have it on the mainframe.....

Hello,

I'd suggest you ftp the sort info into a pds rather than trying to use copy/paste.

When you create this on the pc, make sure that you create "records" that are 70 bytes or less. You do not want to use word-wrap.
Hope this helps,
