OS/390 C/C++ Productivity Tools

Postby jbluemer » Wed Sep 03, 2008 3:15 pm

Hi,

I'm able to create Performance Analyzer trace files on OMVS, z/OS, but I need a tool to view these files. Where can I get the workstation component for the trace file analysis?+

Hello and welcome to the forums,

See if this has info you can use:
http://www-01.ibm.com/software/awdtools/apa/
Hope this helps,

Thanx for the answer - but this link does not solve my problem. The APA has no workstation component for trace file analysis - as far as I know. It is a STROBE-substitute with a report generator on the mainframe.

I need the workstation component - or something like that - that is bundled in the 'OS/390 C/C++ Productivity Tools' package.

As far as I know the Visual Age 4.0 version is also able to process the trace files - but where do I get a VA 4.0???

Most of the IBM tools (e.g. Debug Tool, File Manager) work with RDz (Rational Developer for System z). PA probably does too but you would have to check with IBM.
