If the product was recently upgraded, suggest you open a support issue with CA for clarification/confirmation.
This will not resolve the sort problem. . .

I have not been able to reach out to CA for clarification. Infact, being contractors such priviledges have not been bestowed upon us
. So i have kind of let it go.

I got A045 with Rc=20
and I found that inserting
//SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=*
fixes that problem
and I found that inserting
//SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=*
fixes that problem

Well I've had it again. This time caused simply by me having specified a wrong length record in my sort file definition - I'd defined it as 25 and was writing a much longer record to it.
