Abend S913 Error

Postby krish091090 » Mon Mar 02, 2015 12:53 pm

Hi Friends,
I'm very new to mainframe environment. I have been working with CICS and DB2. Last few days back when I compiled and run the JCL I was able to view the output. But today when I'm compiling the JCl without any modifications in the source code, its giving an error Abend S913 error.

Can anyone please help me to solve this issue.

You attachment told nothing.

You need to speak to your technical support. If you look at the log and the messages dataset you may get a clue as to which DD/dataset is involved, but if you are a beginner this probably won't mean much to you. So talk to your techincal support.

s913 is an abends related to security issues,
-- You are trying to access a dataset which you are not authorized to use.

if NOTHING has changed in Your way of doing things
something has changed somewhere else ...

as already told ...
ask Your support, they know... WE do not
cheers

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

Thanks a lot for replying!!!

I have a doubt. Apart from admin controls whether normal users like myself can grant or revoke access permissions to datasets???

NO... letting verybody mess with access permission would make any security package pretty useless.

I can't get support from admin because I'm getting third party mainframe access. Is there anyway I can grant access permission to my dataset alone.

If it is your dataset HLQ is your user-id, you can likely access it. There may be other restrictions to other qualifiers (the bits between the dots). You should have received documentation on site naming standards. If not, contact admin.

No, as had been said before, you can't give yourself access to things you have no access to currently.
