Search for a specific member name in a group of datasets?

JES, JES2, JCL utilities, IDCAMS, Compile & Run JCLs, PROCs etc...

Search for a specific member name in a group of datasets?

Hello!

I would like to know if there is any utility that would help me search for a member with some name in a all PDS and PDS-e datasets in a group of datasets with a specific HLQ. Well I have no idea if such an utility exists but it would really be a BIG timesaver. If my question seems stupid and makes no sense to you please do not answer :)...

If you can bring up the list of PDS's/PDSE's in the Data Set List option of ISPF (Option 3.4), then you can enter M member on the command line, and you'll be shown all of the PDS's/PDSE's where that member is present.
