Hello,

It is not likely that you have 20 versions of any gdg. . . Do you understand the difference between generation and version (both are valid, but are quite different).

Show what you "have" now and what you want after your process completes.
Hope this helps,

Since only one VERSION of a GDG GENERATION can be cataloged at one time, you cannot have 20 versions of a GDG -- ever. Hence your question is not possible as stated.

If you had said you have 20 generations of a GDG, you could delete 10 generations by using IEFBR14 or IDCAMS -- by specifying the appropriate delete statements for each of the 10 generations you want to get rid of.

Option 1: find the manual on the utility IEFBR14, read up on how it works, and use it to delete the generations you want to delete.

Option 2: find the manuals on the utility IDCAMS, read up on how the DELETE statement works, and use it to delete the generations you want to delete.

If you are unable to pursue option 1 OR option 2, I strongly recommend you reconsider IT as a career choice since IT requires independent thinking and working and this would be among the very easiest of the things you would be expected to accomplish on your own.
