issue cmd to AO to get systems monitored by AO FP

Postby dohara » Thu Jun 24, 2010 9:14 pm

Hi all

I'm not quite sure as to where to post my enquiry, if it's the wrong forum please say so.
I need to find a command that gives a list of systems monitored by automation focal point.
(i'm only interested in the primary systems, not interested in the backups)
'focal point' is a deditacted system that monitors many other mvs systems and collects error/warning/etc.. messages put on display by automation.

I know the DISPGW command but as far as i know it can only be issued from the focal point.
What i need is to issue this - or the appropriate - command from a job.

To issue cmds to Automation i use EVJRYCMD interface from JCL. (it's a common rexx exec interfacing betwen AO and batch jobs)

Please let me know if either you know the correct format of DISPGW to be issued from batch or you know the right command that gives me the system list.

thanks,
David

This is the kind of thing the manuals are best used for.

Especially since you didn't bother to tell us if you are using Tivoli, Omegamon, MainView, or another automation tool .....

Robert

I do not use any automation tool, Tivoli, Omegamon, MainView - none of those.
I can only rely on cmds i can issue directly from mvs, from the syslog.
I did look up cmds in 'Operator’s Commands - System Automation for z/OS' where i found DISPGW.
I have since tried it but it does not give me the list i need - actually it lists all the systems, without making difference if they are primarily monitored or only because their primary focal point is having trouble.

Still looking for a cmd i need but haven't found it so far.
If you have an idea please let me know

again, what i need is the systems that are primarily monitored by a focal point system and i can only issue cmds in mvs, i do not have access to netveiw

cheers,
David
