Hi,

i need a help.. i have 94 different input files. and i want to take the back up of these 94 files using IEBGENER in a single step. I am trying to use IEBGENER since i don't want to define the DCB parameter for each output files. i want the output files with same attributes of input files.

can anyone please help me?

Thanks in advance.
Manju.

1 - we do not do urgent - we do as and when we feel like it in our own time and at no cot. If you want urgent then pay someone.
2 - if you want to do it in one step then choose a utility that can do that - IEBGENER has one input file and one output file (although input files can be concatenated but the output will be one big file)
3 - IEBGENER copies the DCB so you do not need to specify it
4 - to do it in one step consider ADSDSSU

I think NicC meant ADRDSSU.

Take the time to read what has been written, your best bet is probably ADRDSSU - INCLUDES, OMITS, you can work with ** for qualifiers.

No.

Yes,
1) ARDRSSU (as has already been suggested)
2) ICETOOL
3) IDCAMS
4) File-Aid
5) Vision-Report (Quikjob)
6) File Manager
7) CA-Disk
to name just a few (note: one or more of the above may not be available in your shop)

Based on what you said about your requirement, you can do it in a single step using DFSORT's ICETOOL with 94 COPY operators. I don't know if this is the best way to do it, but it does meet your requirement.

Wow, nobody has asked you you yet....why does it need to be a single STEP? Can it be a single JOB with 94 steps?

Just think what would happen if the 92nd file got a space abend.
