Compare two PDS

Postby jvinoth » Sun Jan 06, 2013 7:21 am

Hi can anyone please help me/
I need to compare two PDS members contents and get the matched member list in one ps and unmatched members in one ps.
Is it possible to do in JCL?

Thank you so much.

Almost anything is possible "in jcl" as long as you create the JCL with the necessary programs and provide the programs with the correct data and/or control card.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

Hello,

Is it possible to do in JCL?
You have been here long enough to use proper terminology . . .

You KNOW this cannot be done "with JCL". You (and very many others) need to get this completely out of your vocabulary.

You need to determine how you want to approach this and where you might want help. One way to do this would be to extract the member list from both files and compare these - so long as the compare is on member name only. You could use the JOINKEYS feature of your sort product to compare the 2 lists.
Hope this helps,
