regarding sequential files in cics

hi,

i have the following questions

can we use sequential files in cics ? if yes is it required to make an entry in pct table

Sequential files can be accessed through extrapartition transient data queues. The PCT table is used to define transactions and has absolutely nothing to do with files, sequential or VSAM.

With the last several versions of CICS (spanning a number of years), FCT entries are not even required for VSAM file -- RDO entries are replacing the old tables. And extrapartition data sets are not defined using FCT (file in RDO).
