Hi Friends,

I am getting error "Volume Not Available" while copying/creating a new member in same as well as new PDS.

Can anyone tell me how can I resolve this issue?

Is it related to the HLQ (like my userid or some specific HLQ say xyz which is generic for all test purpose)?

Hey Dick don't go by name "Mainframe Guru" as I chose this name just like that...

Regards...
Guru

Hello,

Along with the error text is a message id. If this was run in batch, there is probably additional diagnostic info.

Please post the complete diagnostic info including any message id(s).

If this was encountered online, press F1 (possibly 2 times for more complete info).

With no info to work with, a guess is that your process is trying to access some cataloged dataset that cannot be mounted.

Hi D,

Thanks for your response!!

I am trying to copy one member say "XYZ" from some location say "abc.edf" to a new member say "XYZ1" (location remains same ie "abc.def")

that time I got error "Volume not available" at right top. As per your suggestion when I pressed PF1 once I got below message:

Volume 'XYZ1' not mounted or not authorized for your use.

Can you please tell me now how can I resolve this issue or whats the reason behind this.

Earlier I was able to copy/create new members in same DSN.

Regards,
Guru

Thanks D!!!

Issue has been resolved... I put "XYZ1" by mistake in Volume Serial ... I put the "XYZ1" twice (@ Volume Serial and New Member name respectively).

Guru
