I know that, and I completely agree with your position...

But here, at the forum's banner:

IBM MAINFRAME FORUM

A Help & Support Forum for Mainframe Beginners and Students

Don't you agree that Enrico's last post goes all the way against this? It was a completely unnecessary post without anything to add to the subject and even though after I thanked you both for the help... That was what I was talking about...

Hello,

A Help & Support Forum for Mainframe Beginners and Students

It was a completely unnecessary post without anything to add to the subject. . .

Had Enrico believed the post unnecessary, the post would not have been made. . .

There is much more to providing help/support than technical dialog.

Possibly, the most important "thing" in our profession (and many, many others) is how we communicate. In a textversation (my madeup word), there is no eye contact or body language to help. All there is is the text. Unfortunately, many things posted with good intentions are not received as intended. Sometimes people are just rude or arrogant. Sometimes they are not. The way they post (again, the language issue) can cause the post (as read by others) to be taken not as intended. . . and dialogs like this one sometimes result.

Another thing to consider, when one types for friends and relatives, they "know" the person and can better understand the intent/tone. Strangers at a forum won't have this same understanding.

Personally, i try to stay "vanilla", but i dont always succeed. . .

Hi,

I would like to share my findings on how to sort the dataset listed by going to ISPF 3.4 option,

Step 1: Goto the View option(From top 3 rd towards right) that will be seen in top of the screen
Step 2: If you select option Sort,it will list out the various parameters allowed to sort your listed dataset
Step 3: Choose any of the options on how your dataset to be sorted

Thanks.
