paste issue

Postby superbrano » Thu Jan 05, 2012 8:28 pm

Hello,

I wonder if you could help me with my issue.
I have a problem with the putting text into ispf.
When pasted it ignores boundaries between command and data field (pls see attachement).

I would be so thankful if you helped me.

Thanks and Regards,

Brani.

Try using TE (Text Entry) in the number area. With NUMBER ON.

You might try to paste using the TE line command
( it will show a screen without the line numbers )

but the result might be fouled up by the diffrent line endings in the PC data

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

I'm just guessing here, but I think this is more an issue with your emulator.

Hi great thank ,
to both of you, really appreciate your help.
I've been working on this about week...and also ask for advice about 5 different people. But this is the first thing which actually works.
I've tried to change profile settings - i got it set the same way as my colleague did - and the paste works good for him.
The TE command really work!
Although when i put NUMBER ON then the same thing happens.

But at least i can finally put more than 1 row to ispf via paste...

Thanks one more time.

Best regards,

Brani.

nope...
I stand by my opinion ( slightly reworded )
it depends where You paste from....

pasting lines from an editor window ( obviously with cr/lf )
will produce spurious blank lines

pasting lines from a forum post where no cr/lf are present
You might try to paste using the TE line command
( it will show a screen without the line numbers )

but the result might be fouled up by the diffrent line endings in the PC data

produces data exactly like the <source>
cheers

sorry but i don't think this is the main issue. the issue is that paste works in edit field also - where it didn't before

To return to my previous post. The terminal emulator I use, QWS3270, has two copy/paste modes, "Line mode" and "Block mode." The default appears to be "Line mode," which works like s****. Finding the right place to set block mode is difficult, but well worth the effort. Paste from Windoze Notepad works perfectly in QWS block mode, as does paste to Windoze Notepad from QWS.
