Hello,

Yes.I want to limit the TELNET of every user to his/her tcp/ip station.
I don't know for sure, but my understanding was that the goal was to limit the user to only one ip address to use when logging into the system. I didn't see anything that led me to believe there was any more than the desktop and the mainframe involved.

Possibly i misunderstood or maybe Mehrdad will clarify . . .

Hi,

No this doesn't help me.because this profiles, for example "EZB.TN3270.sysname.tcpname.PORTnnnnn" prevent access to telnet for all users.

but I really need to limit users to their specific ip address. for example I want to limit user "albert" to his PC static ip address "172.20.149.8"

all the best

The question is -WHY? What happens if Albert spills his coffee over his keyboard and has to use another PC for urgent production problem analysis?

Why, oh why?

Could it be that the signature in the very first post gives a clue?

I don't think there's any way with mainframe software to do what you want. You might check with your network support group to see if they can do what you want. If they cannot, then you may just have to accept that what you want to do cannot be done, period.

Hello,

And we still have not beeen told Why someone beileves this is needed. . .

As nearly everywhere is concerned about secutiry and very few would still attempt this, it is curious why this particular situation "needs" this.

What if "albert" is out of town and something needs him to login remotely?

Hi,

Are you sure ? Exclusively you can prevent the TELNET but UACC should be appropriate. Did you had a word with your Security System Programmer ?
