Hello,

than get my message across to you, which you seem to be completely ignoring. Jesus..
HE's busy. . . :?
Keep in mnd that the poster is responsible for making the post clear. We cannot know what you mean to say, so this is up to you.

I get it that you're annoyed at newbies.
Actually, this forum is here to help "newbies".

Hello,

I don't mean him specifically. I meant everyone who has posted so far, focus on pointing flaws in my general direction. Is it so hard to be a little polite? I think I've PM-ed you long back, when I faced the same tone in this forum.

"Actually, this forum is here to help "newbies". "

With all this aggressive tone? Barely seems like it. It's not hard to keep in mind that someone with less experience doesn't have the perspective that you have, and the experience to know where he's looking.

v1gnesh,

How about just trying to "get over" feeling that we are "agressive" (or "condescending" or whatever)?

You have given very little information, and almost none since your first post.

It is not even clear if you have followed-up on the Google information, or if you were just looking for the "exact" thing to be explained somehow somewhere, directly, for your case.

I'm not able to view few IEF403I messages in the syslog, except for -

the ones that are generated by Control-M's newday jobs
BPXAS
SMFDMP
CTMDAY (Control-M newday procedure)
surprisingly, few jobs submitted by users

SYS1.PARMLIB(MPFLST00) contains "IEF403I JOB START TIME". I checked in a production server and it has the same MPFLST00 entry. I get all IEF403I messages in the production server.

It is not even clear from this what the extent of the problem is. You're "not able to view [a] few" and you seem to say you can see "[surprisingly] few jobs submitted by users".

If you are seeing some jobs submitted by users, then what is the difference between those that you can see the message for, and those that you can't?

Control-M is a likely part of the equation. What is different in how that is set up where you don't see all the messages, and somewhere where you do see all the messages?

Can you do the Google, and follow-up on the three most likely? Might not give you the answer directly, but might lead you to know more about how the production of the message can be controlled, which might lead you to find the answer itself.

The problem is a "site specific" problem, even "system specific" within your site. There is no "magic answer" anyone can give you ("oh, yes, that must mean you've not...").

If you just don't like being told this in the different ways that you've been told this, so decide not to take any notice, I'm not sure where you're going to go with it.

It's not my mainframe
Yet, at the same time you seem to think this one LPAR is not behaving the same as the other LPARs at your site. If there truly is different behavior, then you need to accept that SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT. It could be something in SYS1.PARMLIB, it could be something in a vendor package such as Control-M, it could be something else, but somewhere somehow something is not the same to cause the different results. And as long as you protest there is no difference, there is NOTHING we can do to help you. Accepting that there is a problem is the first step in resolving it, and so far it does not appear that you are doing this.

Personally, I think it is about time to lock this topic as you are not providing any information that would help diagnose / resolve the issue, and every time someone suggests something to try all you do is say that you did it and the problem is not there.

I'll be logging into the system in a couple of hours. I'll provide what was asked here. I didn't have access to the systems over the weekend.
Ok, something is different. I've just been asking for help to identify what could be different.

You were so busy whining and badmouthing us that You completely disregarded my suggestion ....

to save You the trouble of scrolling back here it is again

ask Your support for the checklist used when installing products and You will find what <modification> have been done to the base system
extend it to the same for the zOS itself

also it would be worth for You to read and meditate on the basics of system installation...
with particular regard to the MPF ( in wide sense ) exits , see for example

This is the same setting that's present in other LPARs, which don't have this problem. And like I said, jobs that run on a schedule still produce the msgid. I realize I'm not being very clear but please try to understand what I'm saying.

Are you getting all the expected 404's? Do you get the expected 403's if you "unsurpress" them?

These setting may be the same as elsewhere, but something is different. Have you had a look at what is set for any "exits" there may be affecting these?
