Decrease the number of extent

I think this one is a DB2 question.

My goal is to get an veray small number of extent for a db2 vsam.

So i read this topic :

and i well anderstand, it is written db2 can caclulate itself the secondary space by using the dataclass parameters : "Extent Constaint Removal"

Am i right (DB2 Admin has never used this parameter in our company) so i'm asking if someone has ever used it ?
