What i AUTH=NO with RACF

Postby Birnbaum » Wed Feb 10, 2010 9:00 pm

Hi,

I'm new at this DB2 for zOS and there is a parameter AUTH in the DSNZPARM. Do i need this to be YES when running RACF?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

DSNZPARM - AUTH specifies if db2 is to do authorization checking or not.

Suggest you talk with ypur dba for more detail.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

Hi and thanks,

But that it dossent really answer my question. i know that the parameter specifies, if db2 is to do authorization checking or not. What I need to know is whether it has any effect to set it to YES if you are using RACF to authorize access.
