I'm working as a mainframe developer.

I want to switch to DBA carer path.

Almost all the classifieds demand DBA positions to have at least 2-3 years DBA experience. And I will not be getting any DBA exprience unless I work as a DBA. This is vicious circle. Can anyone please throw some light on how to break this circle?

Talk to your company's DBAs to find out how they got into the field. They may also have some transition program available so you could gradually pick up DBA duties where you are. They would definitely be a good resource to start with.
