READ a VSAM after STARTBR?

Hello

In a CICS program, after execution of STARTBR a VSAM(KSDS) file, what if CICS READ instead of CICS READNEXT is next immediate codes to be executed?

It abends with AFCY, then it's resolved by increasing the # of string for the VSAM file.
