Can anyone suggest me advantage of GDG over PS or PDS

Using a GDS for a PDS is possible but causes mega coding problems whereby you can not use relative generation addressing.

Using a GDS instead of a PS, you can keep up to 255 previous generations with a GDS without having the need** for backups.

** This in no way suggests that you replace backup processing by using GDS

Hello,

The original question is not one that should be even asked. . . :?

There is no basis of comparison between a Generation DataSet and Partitioned DataSet.

Some PS datasets might be defined as a GDG. . .

If you have some specific consideration, post it and someone should be able to clarify :)
