The reuse option

Postby pcs2smf » Fri Sep 25, 2009 12:34 am

When using REUSE in the repro command, I know this sets the HRBA to 0 - emptying the dataset, but does this apply when there are multiple extents allocated? There is a weekly job running that repros data from a flatfile to a VSAM. Sometimes the first of the month run creates duplicates though nothing is changed in the JCL. At this time there is a complete month of data and multiple extents may be alloc.

Hello,

The REPRO does not create the duplicates.

When/how are the duplicates detected?
Hope this helps,

The VSAM is a history file. Raw data indicates dups. I can compensate by using SAS in the reporting. Proc sort nodups. There are numerous steps in this job. One step is this repro, thinking perhaps this step is re-adding the data.
