Reporting on Tape Statistics.

I am having RMM at my shop and also IBMTOOLS.How can we get The stacking tapes(I think it is by /D sms,lib(vts),detail), Active volumes and Active data For a VTS.

Also is there a way to find out the no. of tapes that got mounted for a client and divide it by client Lpar, ??

Any suggestion Please.

Tape mount statistics are available using SMF data, type 14 and 15. Although you would have to have agood dig around to find all of the information that you require.

Ok sorry I should have been more straight I want to know what is the definition of ACTIVE DATA??

And how can we calculate it.

Active data in my experience has always been something that is site specific. There is no hard and fast set rules to determine if data is active or not. Also, the criteria will change from application to application, so the best people to ask are your storage management team.
