EMPTY VSAM FILE

Hi,

How to check whether vsam file empty or not? If it is empty what type of abend it will show.

In what was do you want to "check" it? You can always use IDCAMS...

Madhavan, are you aware that VSAM files are treated differently if they are empty (never had a data record written) and a file with no records (but has had a record written and deleted). An empty VSAM file cannot be opened for input -- period. A VSAM file with no records can be opened for input.

Madhavan - please search the forum (and use google) before posting questions. Some, if not all, of your questions have been asked before and the information is 'out there'
