Fixing IVPDB1 database after IPL

Hey Folks

Fairly new to IMS thus the question.

I'm running the IMS IVP jobs and was successfully running the Cobol batch application IVP6 which does some basic processing against the IVPDB1 database. Last night we had a problem which meant that the whole system was IPL'd without taking any part of IMS down. So today the IMS IVP job fails.

Running the IMS IVP job IV3H228J, this ends with a U3303 abend. The following messages are in the log…

DFS551I BATCH REGION IV3H228J STARTED ID=00006 TIME=1529 IVP1
DFS3303I PSB DFSIVP6 PCB IVPDB1 DBD IVPDB1 NOTAUTHD JOBNAME
IV3H228J RGN 00006 IVP1
DFS554A IV3H228J 00006 G DFSIVP6 (2) 000,3303
2018/030 15:29:02 IVP1
DFS552I BATCH REGION IV3H228J STOPPED ID=00006 TIME=1529 IVP1
IEF450I IV3H228J G HIDAMUPD - ABEND=S000 U3303 REASON=00000000

On completion the IVPDB1 DB is in a stopped state. Even if we restart the DB with ACCESS=UP it still doesn’t work and on completion of the job the database is again in a stopped state.

I gather I need to do something to the DB to fix this - but not sure what. Think it's something to do with DBRC but not sure.

Thoughts? p.s. I don't need to keep any data that might be in logs etc.

Thanks.

  1. Do not post the same question more than once. Many people that respond to these queries will not respond to queries posted more than once.
  2. The people that respond to these questions do so on their own time, for free. Do not expect an immediate response. If you need an immediate response you should hire (and pay for) consultants or other people competent to respond to queries of this nature.
