Hello,

running z/OS 2.1

Is there a way to override the SORTWK ddname ? That is, can I specify that ddname XXXXWK be used instead of SORTWK.

Thanks in advance.

Regards Nick

this installation has a JES2 exit that removes the SORTWK dd statements to force all jobs to use dynamic allocation. Apparently (long ago) , application jobs were incorrectly specifying SORTWK space and filling up storage pools (most of this was created many years ago). Dynamic alloction has been working just fine, until now.

They now have a DB2 re-org job that needs to specify a very large SORTWK dsn's and I was hoping that I could override the DF/SORT specification for SORTWK to another ddname . I was hoping to not re-write/update the JES2 exit.....

I see that the OPTION SORTDD parameter may do the trick.
I'll try some experimentation.

thanks for the detailed information
