It is not clear what you are asking. . .

As the compiler and the environment have evolved, i've basically done nothing to application code.

What do you want to do that would require some change?

Hello,

You need to talk with others who compile programs on your system and they can tell you the processes that are in place on your system.

While comipling code is somewhat generic, the actual processes used by different organizations are quite site-specific.
