Hello everyone..

The jobs which are scheduled in Tivoli workload scheduler under applications would be maintained with some cost for each run? my concern is I would like to do some savings for my applications that should reflect in Charge back report for every month.. would the jobs maintained in TWS would have some maintenance cost for each run if so i will look for the Jobs which are not required and remove the jobs in Application id's so that would create some savings.. and also would like to know what else can do in application's point of view to for savings ( I know few of them like DASD's cost some dollors (ex: 6$) for 1 GB.. so we check for the jobs which are creating the huge volumes of output datasets can be change to TAPE(since tapes are free).. and also let me know the possible ways of savings for applicatons..

To a large degree, what you are asking is specific TO YOUR SITE. Some sites charge back, some sites don't. And getting ideas from a site that doesn't charge back may not provide you much help. You need to review your site's charge back mechanism, identify where the largest costs come from, and determine what -- if anything -- can be done to reduce those charges.

Making some inept programmers redundant would save your site probably more money...

tws jobs under some maintenance cost in mainframes
This phrase makes absolutely no sense. WHAT maintenance costs -- IBM's? your site's? your department's? IBM generally charges a fixed price for mainframe software maintenance -- your site pays $X per month (where X is a factor of the site's negotiations, the size of the machine, and a variety of other things), and they're not paying for TWS by the job. Your site may charge back by the TWS job but that is a site-specific thing.

I cut that from a post before I read Robert's last reply. I decided to post so that you are aware of where we are having problems understanding you.

I looked at the TS past posts
looks like since 2011 He learned nothing ...
posted foggy questions, did not care to answer when asked for clarifications

people with this attitude are not worth spending time trying to help them .

might as well lock the topic and ban the user!
