OPC tasks

Postby curios13579 » Wed Jan 07, 2009 10:03 pm

Hello everybody! I would like to ask a question about the OPC tasks : OPCC and OPCT (CONTROLLER AND TRACKER). What these tasks do and what happens if i recycle them , will it make damages to the OPC scheduling? :?: Thanks in advance.

OPCC (controller) is the brains and is controlling all job submission, resolving dependencies, etc. When it stops, so does the schedule. Recycle quickly.

OPCT (tracker) is watching for job completion and notifying OPCC. When the tracker is down for a short period it tries to catch up on the SMF data when it restarts. Recycle quickly, too.
