What do you mean by find the syslog dataset.

The current syslog, or do you mean the written, or previously dumped syslog dataset(s)

It is not at all clear what you are wanting -- you need to clarify what you are wanting to do.

When you say "syslog" in your post, do you mean:
- console output?
- output of a particular job (and if so, all output? one particular output?)
- system logger output?
- something else entirely? and if so, what?

If, as I suspect, you are referring to the JES output of a single job -- be aware that this is SPOOL data, not a data set that can be accessed in any normal way. There is no data set name assigned to a spool file.
