Creating an alternate of volume DFHSM

Postby ai-butterfly » Thu Jan 17, 2008 1:42 pm

HI,

i don't know whether i post it in the right Topic or not, cause there is so many topic but i concluded that DFHSM is one of the IBM Utilities so i post it here.

I have a problem to create the alternate volumes for some of BVOL and ML2 tapes using TAPECOPY command but it always return code 8.

this is the code i used:
hsend tapecopy originalvolumes(500033)

and this is the result:
ARC0430I TAPECOPY COMMAND FAILED - REASON=17
ARC0422I TAPECOPY COMPLETED - RETURN CODE=8

i've also tried to use the alternateunitname parameter
hsend tapecopy originalvolumes(500033) alternateunitname(3590)
but i return the same code 8

could anyone tell me what is the problem?

Regards
Lenny

Hello Lenny and welcome to the forums,
ARC0430I TAPECOPY COMMAND FAILED - REASON=17
I believe you need to resolve this error first.

I'd suggest you talk with your storage management people about what is needed on your system.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

Hi Lenny , try to use ALTERNATE3590UNITNAME instead off ALTERNATEUNITNAME .
