Hi all,

Could you please clarify me the following regarding the Changeman tool

1. What is the package name in Changeman which share the components between themselves prior to production implmentation
2. Whether we can rename the components in production implementation package?
3. If we want to backout a single element from package, can we do so OR whether we need to backout the entire package.
4. If we need to checkout the previous version of baselined program, what will we give for version. (Eg: Version = -1 or 0 )

Please help.

Thanks
Chidam

1. Complex Package.
2. Not by ISPF R(ename) command.
3. Never tried, but to back-out you need to "revert" the package and not just individual components. So probably you would need to backout the entire package.
4. "-1". "0" is "base-line", that code which is currently in production.

Hi,

1) Every package name starts with application name and ends with some unique number.
2)For renaming components use option 1-4-1 and pass the old member name against componenet , new member name against new name and type r in option field for renaming. Then audit, freeze and approve it. Component will be renamed in changeman baseline library
3) quest is not clear to me..Be more clear
4)If you need to checkout the previous version of baselined program back up of the previous changeman version require to be available. For this u can check SUPT.CHGMAN.sitename.@.appl to get previous version of changeman baseline library. Then u just stage it, check out could not be performed if you try to get from ur personal PDS
