Can I recover a current version of my program that I lost bcoz I checked out the wrong version from production into an existing package?

Depends what backups are in place in your organisation both for Changeman and TSO users and general work libraries.

is it possible ro recall any changeman dataset? if so, may I know the command that'll do that for me?

Just trying to access it should recall it if you mean HSM migrated. It is so long since I used ChangeMan that I forget the etails of how it operates. If it does 'migrate' things then maybe your ChangeMan administrator can help you.

Suggest you talk with the ChangeMan admin and see if the module you want can be recovered from a backup.

This is an old thread but I seldom log in here, so could not monitor this part. There seem to be two questions in this thread, totally un-related and the final answer is from the other world.

Every site has its back-up policy as Nic has indicated too. Version control tool like Change Man are subject to keep some versions of a given program. Most of the sites, I've been to - had "end-user-usable-versions" upto ranging from 25-50, now that's a site set-up; they choose to have this number. There is a higher number for the versions you can recover but they are available to Change-Man admins not to the Application Programmers.

So even if you've checked-out the "wrong-version" you've the liberty to go to the previous version. Having said that, HRECOVER is NOT related to Change-Man in this sense or any, good grief - I'm not sure how it worked for the TS, if s/he actually meant this!

Second question:

As Nic said, depends on how HSM is set-up.

But what exactly "changeman dataset" would be? Knowing it's an old thread, I don't scratch my head and say, if this data-set is under the legacy of Change-Man, an end user won't have the autority to recall such a(n) DSN. Having said that, again HRECOVER will not work in this case too -- you "recover" a DSN using HRECOVER you don't RECALL it -- and this is what quoted question is!
