CA7-based data transmision in lieu of tape storage

In our Z/10- CA-7 environ, we plan to eliminate tapes and begin migrating cloud storage soon.
Is there an existing CA-7 data transmision applictaion such as FTP (and in lieu of purchasing XCOM too much $$c.100K+) where one might routinely create a file for transmission in lieu of Tape. We currently use CA-1 for Tape Mgmt and create tapes for distribution to custmers and for secure off-line storage. We want to replace this tape mgmt with a secure (CA=based, seamless) data transmission application, e.g., FTP, etc.
Platform Background: IBM z/10 zos110 CA-7 r11.1sp3

Maybe I'm missing something, but last I knew CA-7 was only a job scheduling product. But anyway, what's wrong with just using FTP?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Yup, CA-7 is for scheduling while CA-1 is the tape management system.

Many scheduled jobs might use tapes, but CA-7 doesn't use the tapes.

To do what you want, suggest you do as Mr Spock suggests. Schedule jobs that FTP the files as needed.
