CA7 : LAST MAINTENANCE VIA LOAD

Postby vinod.tavva » Thu Apr 25, 2013 11:08 am

Hi All,

There is a job in CA7. Which came in Ca7 in LOAD mode.

As per my Knowledge LOAD mode means. When the job is loaded for the first time in ca7 it will come in Load mode.

But came across a Scenario that job is running from years in (Auto Mode) came into CA7 queue in Load mode.
When I gave LJOB,JOB=<JOB NAME> I could "LAST MAINTENANCE VIA LOAD"

Looking to know why the job came into LOAD MODE ?
What is meant by LAST MAINTENANCE VIA LOAD ?
Why no commands(LJCL,Force complete) ?

Can some please help me with the reason why this was heppening ?

Your knowledge is not quite accurate. From the CA-7 Primer manual, Glossary:
load. A process that adds job and data set definitions to the CA-7 database. This is how CA-7 knows which data sets are created and used by each job.
All the message that you see means is that nobody has gone in and edited or otherwise changed the JCL since the job was loaded into CA-7.

Thanks a lot Robert. For making me a bit clear.

The jobs I'm speaking runs in Auto/Schedule Mode from Years. But Yesterday only the jobs came in LOAD MODE. My Question here is how a job running from Years enter into CA7 in Load mode which any changes in the CA7 of the job.

Force complete is not working for the jobs that came in LOAD mode. and Only load step is working for the job and job is failing with JCL error.

Thanks & Regards,
