Timestamp/date in dataset name

Postby gokulNmf » Thu Apr 18, 2013 2:41 am

Hi,

Is there any option in CA7, to replace(part of)/add, timestamp/date as a part of dataset name. The requirement is, every day job gets submitted the name of the DS should be unique.
But we don't want to do this using GDG. Also we don't want to make the JCL to be sumitted thru internal reader. So if something can be done by CA7 it will be apt for our requirement.
Cheers,
Gokul

Read about CA-DRIVER in the CA-7 Interfaces Guide manual. This facility allows you to do certain things with dates and use them as part of the data set name.
