Pop ups???

Postby Ed Goodman » Wed Feb 29, 2012 2:57 am

What's up with that? I'm getting a message now on each topic about needing to close my pop up blocker.

Do you have Adblocker installed?

Yes, of course. Pop ups are annoying as all get out, and are the usual way for malicious software to get started on a machine.

Are you trying to use pop ups for Google Adsense? (looks like it from the page source)

BTW, it also happens when I disable AdBlocker for this site. The default for Firefox is to block pop ups, even WITHOUT the Adblock add-on running. The same is true for IE, the default is to block pop ups.

Seems to have stopped happening. The code that checked the existence of the pop up window is gone.

The Google code that's left is:

Code: Select all

<tr>
<td align="center">
   REMOVED FOR SECURITY REASONS
</script></td>
<tr>

Just be careful, using AdSense in pop ups is a violation of AdSense TOS.

I have added the screen shot as an attachment.

Please don't do popups. Especially if you're not in control of the content. Put the code inline or in a banner.

You're going to get blacklisted at my office if you do this.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

It seems like a JavaScript alert box, not popup window. Can you please post the screenshot of the entire page? Do you able to see any adverts in this page while getting this alert? If anyone else getting this too, please report here.

You're going to get blacklisted at my office if you do this.

:( :( :(

How do you NOT know what is happening to these pages? Why are you asking ME to post pictures of how they look? Try it yourself and you'll see it.

Are you going to leave this javascript in there? Are you planning on using pop ups?

Am I wrong in assuming that "admin" means you are the site owner? Maybe that's where I'm getting confused.
