CA JOBTRAC - TRACWARN CATALOG ERROR

Postby JFB42 » Wed Jan 05, 2011 7:42 am

We get a '*TRACWARN - JOB JOBXYZ CATALOG ERROR NOTED' at the end of a succesful batch job which places the in the checkpoint as FAILED holding up the batch queue. The message appears due to..'IGD17054I DATA SET NOT FOUND FOR DELETE/RENAME ON VOLUME XYZ' which is OK according to our SYS PROGS. We just want to ignore this but can't find a way within Jobtrac. (using v3.5) Has anyone come across this before? If so any clues how to get Jobtrac to accept the job has worked OK? Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Why is the dataset not found? Why do some believe this is OK (issuing a delete or rename against a dataset that does not exist)? It may be OK if the datasdet does not exist, but probably not OK to try to delete/rename it. . .

Have you talked with your scheduling people about alternatives within JOBTRAC? You might open an issue with CA Support.

While research is being done, you might make sure the dataset does exist and thereby prevent the failure.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

Are you using a utility to do the delete/rename and if so which one? how is it coded?
