Hello all,
I have a question need your help,
I have a program P1 call a copybook C1 in production(both in production), now
we updated the copybook C1 and move it to EP2;
if we run the P1 in production now, will it pick up the copybook C1 in production or EP2?
I know as a program component, EP2 will be searched first, and then production,
what I understanding is P1 in production will first search C1 in EP2, then C1 in production,
so what we only should do is move the updated copybook c1 to EP2, it's not neccessary to move
the P1 to EP2 as P1 in production will first pick up C1 in EP2 instead of the C1 in production,
please let me know if something wrong,
thank you very much,
Helen

Re: Priorities in Endovour
Unless you recomile the program it doesn't matter how many of its copybooks are changed or where they are. They are not executable code.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

Thank Nick for your quick response,
if the program P1 in production get recompiled, will it pick up the copybook version C1 in EP2 or C1 in Production first? thanks,
Helen

Re: Priorities in Endovour
This is a question for your site support group, not a forum. We don't work at your site and have no idea how Endevor is set up at your site, and hence we have no idea what you mean by "EP2". Presumably it is an Endevor environment, but how it interacts with your production environment, only your site support group can say for sure.

Re: Priorities in Endovour
Also, if the program gets recompiled the new version will not be in production until it is packaged and moved there. Suggest you get some Endevor training.
