LACS MOUNT Errors

Hi. I am trying to access tapes and am getting a CBR4190I LACS MOUNT unexpected error from library ...

IEC147I 613-1C

Seems like the only fix to get the volume to mount is to alter to SCRATCH, then back to PRIVATE in the TCDB. It works, but we need to do this in batch. I have tried IDCAMS to delete the volume and create.. but that method doesn't work. I also tried an IDCAMS ALTER. Not sure why it works when I go through the panels and not when i submit an IDCAMS.

Any help is greatly appreciated!! :D :D

The Messages and Codes manual tells you what to do:
System Action: The permanent error return code is set, and control is returned to the caller. An SVC dump with a system abend code of 0B6-2C is also requested.

Operator Response: For a mount request, retry the failing job.

System Programmer Response: Save the console log and the dump data set, and contact the IBM Support Center with the unexpected error code and modifier documented in this message.

You need to look at the ICF catalog entry type VOLUMEENTRY for a mismatch with your TMS.

You should also be getting IEC147I messages and possibly other messages. It might help us if you could post them here.

It is unlikely you are getting these messages in your TSO session; they are coming from batch jobs you are running. You might get a better response in the JCL section. Perhaps this thread could be moved there.

Hello,

I'll be happy to move this, but is this really JCL. . .?

I'm open to suggestions and will move it to JCL if that seems best. . . :)

It's really a DFSMS problem but could be a better fit for the ABENDS forum since there is an abend code.
