How do I shut it down?

Postby clueless_idiot » Wed Sep 30, 2015 2:13 am

We have a IBM S/390 which we are decommissioning at the end of next month after 21 years of service. I'm not a MF person and just used to carry out the backup tape rotation and IPL after power outages. The power outages always shut down the mainframe for me, so I never learned how. From my old notes, here is the OS we are using: "Z/VM 4.2 and VSE/ESA (now rebranded as Z/VSE) 2.6.2"

I don't know if it matters, but we also have the OS/2 Warp control element and one or two Controllers.

Could someone tell me how to do a graceful shutdown? Thanks in advance!
