IPL and JES2 resources

Postby sam_jj12 » Mon Feb 29, 2016 8:02 pm

Hi All,

Doing IPL will have an impact on the JES2 resources like JOES,JQES and TGS etc.
does it vary from the JES2 start modes

Thanks in advance.

I'm not a sysprog by any means but even so I have difficulty trying to figure out what your question is.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

Nic

JES2 resources are defined by JES2 parameters. An IPL does not affect this.

The only possible exception might be TGS (track groups). TGS will be reduced if planned spool volumes are not available or actual SYS1.HASPACE is smaller than planned when the parameters were defined. SPOOL volume availability might be affected by an IPL, or potential SPOOL volumes might be taken offline before JES2 is started.

By JES2 start modes, I presume you mean WARM, COLD, FORMAT. I do not see where these would affect JES2 resources.
