Hi,

Could anyone share me the right MVS command to see the unused Database residing over a mainframe LPAR.

As far as I know, there is no command in MVS to show unused databases in an LPAR. Since databases are not a part of the z/OS kernel, there is no requirement that a database be installed with the operating system and hence there's no need for commands to look at them in the system. The MVS bookshelf has the System Commands manual which lists all commands that can be issued at a console (although JES has another set of commands that can be issued at the console as well).

If you are thinking of a particular database system, such as DB2, then you may find commands that can be issued at the console for that particular product -- but such commands would be documented as part of the product bookshelf since the commands would not be available unless the product was installed.

Hello,

It may help us help you if you define "unused database". . .

What about shared dasd (i.e. storage available to multiple lpars) . . .?
