I'm creating an email in VM and I'm using the SENDFILE command to route the email via SMTP. The email body and the attachment (excel file in base64) both have Simplified Chinese characters within them. When I open the email, the Chinese characters are garbled.
I understand there is a conversion table that can be used with the SENDFILE command. How can I use that to successfully transfer and display Chinese characters?

It's been quite some time since I've worked on a z/VM system, but ISTR that
