acf2 tool's background program view

Postby jaggz » Fri Jul 23, 2010 9:18 pm

Hello ,

Whenever we try to add some users to a db2 group using a acf2 command , we get an ouput saying that the group has been added or else denied. Is it possible for us to vew the acf2 background programs possibly it should be REXX or some jcl's. How can we view the programs that are responsible for this addition or deletion and where does it runs.

Hello,

Your system most likely has only executable code that you will not be able to "read" - you can look at it, but it will not tell you anything.

If you could read the "programs", what would this provide?
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

Would it not make more sense to review the ACF2 rules to understand what THEY do? The programs are not delivered as source code and hence you won't be able to make sense of them, whereas if you dump the rules you should be able to determine who has access to what.

We use RACF, not ACF2, but I can dump the RACF rules and determine who has access to which resources from the dumped data.
