I am performing a review of Top Secret Security and it looks like the mode is set to WARN and not FAIL. I am not sure what the implications of this is? From what I read on various sites this means that "Changes mode globally and can lessen or destroy security if set at anything other than FAIL". What all does this open up?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

WARN and FAIL are exactly as they sound. . .

Warn will indicate violations, but will continue.

Fail will indicate the violation and terminate.

It should be clearly understood that WARN and FAIL in Top Secret, ACF2, and RACF apply to resource access. By that I mainly mean data set access. User access to the system is not affected by WARN.
